Nama Fiji Commits to Canopy’s Pack4Good Initiative to Help Protect the World’s Forests
Nama Fiji, a sustainable beauty brand powered by ethically-harvested Nama “sea grapes,” is proud to announce its commitment to Canopy’s Pack4Good initiative. Led by Canopy, a solutions-driven environmental non-profit, Pack4Good helps brands keep Ancient and Endangered Forests out of their paper packaging and accelerate the shift to lower-impact alternatives.
As global demand for paper packaging continues to surge — with more than 3.1 billion trees cut down each year to produce paper packaging alone — brands have a critical role to play in reducing pressure on vital forest ecosystems. By joining Pack4Good, Nama Fiji commits to eliminating packaging sourced from Ancient and Endangered Forests and prioritizing lower carbon, lower impact alternatives including recycled materials and Next Gen Solutions made from agricultural residues like wheat straw and other low-impact alternatives.
“At Nama Fiji, our connection to nature is at the heart of everything we do,” said Debra Sadranu, Founder and Director of Nama Fiji. “Joining Pack4Good is a natural extension of our commitment to making thoughtful choices for the future. We’re proud to work alongside Canopy to help ensure our packaging solutions contribute to a healthier, more resilient planet.”
“Nama Fiji’s commitment to Pack4Good demonstrates how beauty brands can align their packaging choices with their values,” said Cait Green, Pack4Good Brand Engagement Manager at Canopy. “By taking action to eliminate packaging sourced from Ancient and Endangered Forests and exploring recycled and Next Gen alternatives, Nama Fiji is protecting vital ecosystems while supporting resilient supply chains. Their leadership shows that caring for communities and caring for forests can and should go hand in hand.”
Pack4Good brings together forward-thinking brands to help keep the world’s Ancient and Endangered Forests out of paper packaging supply chains while accelerating the shift to lower-carbon, lower-impact alternatives. At a time when demand for paper packaging continues to rise, brands have a critical opportunity to use their purchasing power to reduce forest risk, drive innovation, and help scale the market for recycled and Next Gen Solutions.
By aligning its packaging practices with its responsible sourcing model, Nama Fiji continues to
demonstrate leadership in building a beauty brand that supports both people and the planet.
